Alex helped triple first-week retention in the Poker Power app by overhauling navigation and simplifying the core gameplay experience. He introduced a global tab bar that clearly separated Play and Learn modes, reducing confusion for new users, and launched a customizable push notification feature that let players choose when to be nudged for community games - boosting re-engagement and session consistency.

At Poker Power, instructors are often guiding members through a real poker game and need a bespoke real-time feature set to educate the audience properly. Prototyping a new menu panel enabled our team to see – and feel – how a special layer over a game would empower them without obfuscating the action on the table below it.
⚡️Teacher Controls was a key update designed to empower instructors to manage gameplay more efficiently, reducing the time and effort required to guide students through poker sessions.
Alex and his PM led the creation of an interactive onboarding experience designed to help new users quickly learn poker basics and feel confident playing their first game. They built a choreographed, “pop-up video”–style tutorial that guided players through a simulated match, teaching key rules and gameplay dynamics step by step.
